Yes, it lives on metal surfaces for something like 7 days and on plastic for like 5 days or something. (they don’t have enough studies to give concrete answers on how long it lives on surfaces). But one thing we know is this virus spreads very well and it doesn’t die as easily as other viruses. So it’s definitely possible it can live on surfaces for days under the right temperature and on non-porous materials. Maybe even more than days. One article mentioned that on the Princess cruise ship they found some traces of Corona weeks later. It is unclear if those small traces are enough to infect people.
